HC-SR04 - ultrasonic sensor for Raspberry Pi

HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor uses ultrasound to measure the distance to various objects. It lends itself excellently in applications in eg a robot or a car driven by a Raspberry Pi as to avoid collisions!

It is equipped with two ultrasonic transmitters (two speakers), a receiver and a control chip. The transmitters send out high-frequency ultrasound that bounces on solid objects nearby, the recipient receives the "echo" from the ultrasound and control the chip calculates the time it took to get back the echo. This along with some clever mathematical calculations to determine how far it is between the unit and the solid object.

HC-SR04 gives you a lot of money, it is powered by Raspberryn and is actually surprisingly accurate. HC-SR04 has 5V out what needs to be reduced down to 3.3V to work with a Raspberry Pi Click here for a smooth and easy to understand tutorial on how to fix this. HC-SR04 works best at distances 2cm - 400cm in a 30 ° cone.

Dimensions (WxH): 43x20mm.
Operating temperature: -10 ° C - 70 ° C.
